About MISA

The Management Information Systems Association (MISA) was founded over 10 years ago to be the professional club associated with the MIS Department at the Eller COllege of Management. We provide a friendly forum for students that have shown an interest in MISA opportunities to interact with each other, share experiences, and network with one another. To this end, we facilitate various event and services that help them to develop professionally, technically, and socially.

MISA Mission

Our mission is to empower our members by building close ties with companies hiring MIS majors for both jobs and internships, enhance members' technical skills, and provide MISA members networking opportunities in an active and socially involved student organization.

Partnership Opportunities

We are always looking for new companies to partner with, so that our members can be exposed to all different personal ideals and facets of the ever growing technology industry. Generally, our members are interested in learning more about the following:

  • Information about your company, in general

  • Possible internships or full-time job opportunities at your company

  • Your own personal stories about success or other knowledge you may have

If you are interested in partnering with MISA, please contact Bader Jaafar, MISA President.

Prospective Members

Members benefit from study groups, exposure to businesses, and if you are interested in joining, feel free to attend any one of our events. While our typical meetings are usually hosted every other Thursday at 5 o'clock PM, this is subject to change based on speaker's availability. Membership is open to all undergraduates of all majors.

Members

Members utilize the clubs e-mail list server to learn of new events and job opportunities. If you would like to keep informed, request to be added to our listserv by contacting Bader Jaafar, MISA President.

Pre-Business Students

MISA offers free review sessions on MIS 111 course material during the Fall and Spring semesters. Review sessions are held prior to each test and the final. Reviews are typically advertised in-class and posted on our event calendar. If you have any questions regarding reviews, please contact Nicole Hatcher, MISA Vice President.
